What you’re seeing on the left is a youtube video showing Ramiele Malubay’s audition in the Season 7 of American Idol. This video is also used in one of my posts on my personal blog. If you think that I’m trying to make too much senseless babbles here, you’re probably right but that is not what this post is about.

Did you ever wonder why you could not resize or text-align your YouTube videos in your posts? Well, I don’t know too but I finally got a solution to tweak your way into creative resizing and positioning of youtube videos into your wordpress blog posts.

Required tools

1. My Video plugin by Levi Putna.
2. Hard code for left-aligned table as this:

Once upon a time, Bluepanjeet complained why he can’t see the latest incoming links and comments on his dashboard. Then later he realized it was because some of the linkers are linking him using http://www.bluepanjeet.net instead of his Wordpress registered http://bluepanjeet.net. Truth is, as far as the internet, cyberspace and internet browsers are concerned, keying-in either www or www-less URLs will lead you to the same place.

According to an SEO theory, as far as search engine optimization is concerned the two URLs are of different value because each will be indexed by search engines separately. And worst, there is a possibility that you’ll get penalized by Google because Google bots are bots and bots are meant to be stupid. Why? Because Google bots would think your www and www-less URLs are different domains and having 100% same content will be dubbed as duplications. Stupid, too stupid yes!

So how do you resolve this?

Fortunately for me because my hosting provider provides me an option to either (1) add “www.” if somebody goes to http://domain.com/; (2) remove “www.” if somebody goes to http://www.domain.com/; or (3) allow both http://www.domain.com/ and http://domain.com/ work.

But what if you’re not as fortunate with your hosting providers as I am? Will you just sit around and hate the Google bots for all eternity for being stupid? Hell, no!

If you’re a Wordpress blogger, commenting on Blogspot blogs could be a tedious job because you always need to key-in your name and URL each time you’d like to post a response. I found it tiresome too but I don’t want my comments to be link-less so I had to do some work arounds. Below is the step-by-step process that I did and probably what you should do.

Domain 102 – Domain Redirect

102.1 Definition of terms

1. Domain/URL Redirection – a process of forwarding a domain or sub-domain to another URL. For example, if you would set your sub-domain blogspot.kotsengkuba.com to be redirected to www.kotsengkuba.com, entering the sub-domain on your web browser will take you automatically to www.kotsengkuba.com.

2. DNS Settings – are the changeable settings in your domain’s control panel where you could change the nameservers, create CNAMES, re-direct domains, etc.

102.2 Procedures

1. Create an e-Blogger account at www.blogger.com.

2. Register a blog and name it with the same blog title as your Wordpress blog.

3. Create and publish a test post.

Now set aside your newly published blog at this point for later brewing.

I’m supposed to create another blog focusing on techno craps and digital tutorials but the current cold weather is always shooing me to go to bed and slack of under the mattresses. However, there’s an urgent issue that I so wanted to discuss which I believe, could not wait for the next spring season.

Days ago, a blogging friend guised under code name BURAOT ask me about domains and all things related to it. He has finally decided to take blogging to a higher level by joining the domaining cyber-minions. As you know BURAOT, who happened to be our Hopia of the Month for February, is currently running atleast 4 blogs through the mercy of free Blogger and Wordpress accounts. However, our friend here is deciding whether he would acquire for each of his four blogs a separate domain or register a single domain and create subdomains for the remaining others.

The feeling-internet-mogul-and-cyber-consultant me responded in a different manner but what you will be reading below is a smarter but simpler way of explaining the techies in the not-so-techies way.
