Wordpress or build your own site?

Before I was soaked completely into blogging, I used to develop web sites using Active Server Protocols (ASP) side by side with MS Access database. It was difficult, especially when you have to manually code everything, test everything by yourself until finally you upload your site to your FTP folder and find out there’s too much bugs and flaws that could allow even a mediocre internet user to hack through all you files.

But that was until I was introduced to Wordpress. Wordpress was quite a powerful blogging software though despite the countless tweaks and plugins developed, you still crave for more enhancements on your Wordpress-based sites and working plainly from your Wordpress platforms couldn’t quench your eternal thirst for design expansion.

Then came those countless web templates which offered not much solution to your problems at all because they’re just like those usual static html pages so it wasn’t very useful at all.

Now how about those website builders?

BuildYourSite.com is one of those websites which offers to create a website for you by clicking through some step-by-step process. What’s confusing though is that the site offers website builder but their home page by line says you’ll learn how to build a website when actually, as I’ve mentioned earlier, you just need to follow step-by-step process from choosing a website style to choosing a template and colors until you site has been completed. Good thing though is that they have a test drive page where you could try their services before finally paying for a full account.
